So, exactly are lip enhancement dermal fillers ? Quite simply, dermal fillers are a substance which are injected under the skin to make it the lips/skin firmer, hence smoothing out any wrinkles. There are also many different dermal fillers available, but at the Royal Clinic we only use the very best synthetic products consisting of hyaluronic acid which is a natural chemical found in the skin and because these are not produced from animal products, the dermal fillers that Royal Clinic use are much less likely to produce any allergic reactions than older fillers such as collagen, which was originally derived from cowhide.

OK, you are now thinking, are dermal fillers safe?

At Royal Clinic we only use synthetic dermal fillers that are extremely safe
and have a very low incidence of allergic reaction, so as with any procedure,
there is, however, a very small possibility of allergic reaction, and this will
be 100% explained to you during your consultation at the Royal Clinic.

Royal Clinic may use well known brands of dermal fillers in their lip
enhancement procedures which may include Juvederm ®, Restylane, Perlane,
Evolence ™ and Hydrafil, but your cosmetic surgeon will obviously confirm.

So you are thinking, well how exactly is lip enhancement done?

Your lip enhancement treatment take around 30 minutes, and only require
a local anaesthetic, once this has been done, the filler is injected into the lips
to plump them out.

How long does lip enhancement procedure last?

Whilst results vary from one person to another, the results of a lip enhancement
treatment's with dermal fillers can last for up to nine months. Dermal fillers are
normally and gradually broken down and absorbed by the body, so eventually,
your lips will return to their previous appearance without any top-up treatments.

Although there maybe semi-permanent or even permanent dermal fillers
available that could produce longer lasting results, at Royal Clinic we tend to
avoid using some of them, as occasiona;y some patients can develop an
allergy to either semi permanent, or permanent fillers.
There are however, better, other safe products which will last between
12-18 months, but these options can and will be discussed with you personally.
